“Huddle round this fire, friend, let me tell you how its god is both the hand that feeds, and the dog that bites. Once, in the dawn of mankind’s first age of sentience, The Flame offered up heat from a felled tree, and mankind used it to cook. A foolish human attempted to steal her spark and control all that heat to himself. She punished him, and all mankind for they shared the same fickle spirit, by altering the heat of the world wildly, and that was how the seasons came to be; eventually, her anger diminished and the seasons only beat with her pulse.” – Overheard traveller’s tale.
The Flame’s name is misleading, as she is the god of heat in general. She controls the movement in temperature from one state to another, no matter what that other might be. A contractor of The Flame could just as easily ignite an oil slick as freeze water in a glass with the help of their god.
The Flame’s Charmphone avatar is that of a flame-haired, pale-skinned woman, holding a stone of flint in each hand.
