God of War
These giant humanoid war machines were developed only a few decades ago when the continent was at the height of a war. When the first God of War was deployed, it destroyed a small town – a level of destruction never before seen. The war quickly ended in a truce, thanks largely to the intervention of the Duchies, which chose that moment to unify into a nation. Gods of War are armoured, and have extensive weaponry, but most importantly, they allow the pilot direct communication with their god constantly.
When a god ‘attunes’ to the shell of a God of War, they do so willingly, and with no small effort on their part, because for the gods, it allows them a brief while in the world they created (and once visited frequently) despite their own rules against taking physical form. Because of those rules, the effort involved in maintaining the attunement causes the god to resonate violently with the shell: the same resonance that creates a soft song in the earpiece of a Charmphone using the RCS booms out of the God of War like a deafening, otherworldly chant for miles around.
